Happy Ressurection Sunday

He is Risen!!!!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I count it all joy to find myself once again in the land of the living. The Lord decided that he is not through with me yet.

I made some cards for Easter and could not decide what I wanted to do. I had an idea floating around in my head, but was having trouble bringing it to paper. This is what I finally decided upon.

The sentiment is laser printed and foiled with the Anna Griffin silver foil. I used the Minc machine for the transfer.

The oval outline is Graphic 45. I cut out the icon using my Brother Scan n Cut. The cross is from Spellbinders and I used some of the Dollar Tree Jot Foil and Holographic paper for the outline. The silver is Bazzil. Flowers were formed using Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose and inked with Distress Inks. The blue behind the white label is actually a striped white-washed sheet of paper from GCD Spring All Over (LUV their papers!). Centers of flowers are Queen and Company. The white ones are Dollar Tree.

I was not too happy with the way the glitter came out on the flowers. Next time I think I will use white Ultra Extra fine glitter or leave them bare and spritz them with some glimmer mist.
Here is a photo unadorned. This is when I was trying to decide placement.

This is a much softer look and would be great for a sympathy card. We live and learn. I swapped out the Distress inked leaves on the yellow rose (for a pink one) and put in some colored using my Spectrum Noir markers. The leaves 'pop' better. The glitter washed them out. Oh, the background die is also Spellbinders. I got it during their recent clearance sale with a few other goodies, so watch this space.

I am thankful to be able to celebrate the Resurrection with my family and friends. That is what it is all about in the end. Our love for Jesus and each other.

May the Lord keep you and Bless You.
Until then.

He is Risen

Hello and Happy Resurrection Day. He is Risen. I created this set of Easter Cards using the Bokeh technique. It was pure happenstance that I was able to achieve a natural reflection while photographing my cards. When it comes together it truly comes together.

I had seen many people using this particular style and wanted to give it a go for myself. The changes that I made (weren't you expecting that?) were in the circle colors. I used ColorBox Alabaster, White, Green, Blue and an Orange ink. When you are trying for that blurred background it picks up more than white and I like the effect.

The background inks are TH Distress Inks. The bunnies are from the Easter 2010 cartridge and the greenery is also from one of the carts. The Celebrate stamp and Chevron are from Fiskars-Theresa Collins. I used the DCWV glitter paper for the grass and the bunny bows. He is Risen is one of those dollar stamps from G Studios purchased at JoAnns many moons ago. I used a variety of pearls and rhinestones for the eyes.
I did create my own envelopes since my card was a bit on the odd size. I used the WRMK envelope punch and decided not to line them.

Love how they turned out. I hope that your Easter celebration is one filled with gratitude for Jesus' unwavering love for us. Although Good Friday was a day of mourning, Sunday became the day of Rejoicing for the grave could not hold Jesus.

For that I am very thankful and it is well because He is Risen.
Until then.

Happy Easter

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Wow, it is hard to believe that Good Friday was yesterday. This time has come so quickly and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Friends, I do realize that it has been a long time since my last post. I must confess that I have been busy creating memories. Several field trips and family and friends gatherings have taken over my calendar and I love it. I have several pics to share with you and hope to get those off my camera and on to my blog page.

I wanted to share a pic of the Easter Cards I made this year. Sweet treats have been added to the bags and ornaments are hanging from the Easter Tree. I will try to get a picture of it to post here.

I also uploaded a YT Vee-dio showing some of the techniques.

This year in my cards I reflected on Pointus Pilate washing his hands of having anything to do with condemning an innocent man but yet turned him over to the crowd for crucifixion--the method of execution of the day. Just to think it all started to culminate with the death of Lazarus. As we follow Jesus' last days let us remember to reflect on the notion that it HAD to happen for the comforter to come.

As much as the Jews and the Romans might have wanted it to be the end; the grave could not hold Jesus because on the third day He arose. I am sure when Mary saw the tombstone rolled away, she was filled with dread but that later turned into a day of jubilation as she went to spread the Good News.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I appreciate and cherish it more than you will ever know. Have a great Easter Celebration with your family and Happy Spring.
Until Then.
